The Maru Pendant from David Trubridge stuns with a ring form that casts a kaleidoscope pattern of light and shadows outwards. Designed by David Trubridge and made in New Zealand from slender strands of bamboo plywood, the name Maru evokes both Maori and Japanese, referring to the cycle of life. Its circular structure draws its inspiration from diatoms, the unicellular microalgae at the heart of all oceanic life. The circular design and soft shadows create a vibrant, natural presence with an intriguing structure full of artistic intricacy.
