The Amalfi Pendant from Hudson Valley Lighting keeps a coastal presence, using a series of curving, concave coco fiber tiles to focus bright light downward. Suspended via a central chain, the shade panels arc outward, studded around a circular steel frame. The rich metal finish on the steel contrasts with the grooved natural surfaces of the shell, casting a mix of bright light and warm reflected radiance below, with small lines of light making their way around gaps on the tiles. The lamping is damp-listed and powerful, while the artistic contrast of materials suggests the intricacy of jewelry.
